a) TREE REMOVAL

Is it necessary to remove a tree? At BSG, there are a few reasons that our tree expert recommend or tree removal with cut to ground level or tree removal with grubbing up roots.

We suggest removing a tree if the tree is sick, dying or dead, severely decayed and damaged. Dead tree and damaged tree could cause potential hazards to public even life. To avoid happens of accidents, the dead tree needs to be cutting and removed as earliest as possible especially before severe weather like heavy rain with thunderstorm and stormy weather.

In the meantime, we advise to cutting a tree when the tree constitute a hidden hazardous and tend to affect your property. This could be the result of extended and growth of existing roots system. Hence, we need to remove the tree roots to prevent the risk of roots system damaging to your property structure as well as home foundation.

Our in-house certified ISA Arborist will determine the dangerous trees before removing any tree on your property. We have a team of professionals with rich experience in tree cutting services. Call us when you need us to evaluate your tree.

i) Tree Felling

We doing tree felling when the tree is diseased, dead or decayed and when the tree become dangerous and needs to be removed entirely.

Technique

  • Our Certified Arborist Team will examine the tree and identify tree fall direction and area. Our well-trained tree cutting team carry out a sectional felling process where the tree is dismantled in sections from the top down. They will process the section for removal when each section reaches the ground.

iI) Tree Stump Removal

Our tree operation involves removing the unwanted tree stumps by remove the main root ball of a stump to a depth of approximately 150mm below ground level. Our team able to grind out unwanted tree stumps by using our latest technology and machines.

b) TREE PRUNING

BSG is trusted by over 250 clients ranging from Corporates, MNC Companies, SME Companies to Private Condominium and Residential for tree pruning services. Our ISA certified Arborist and Workplace Safety & Health Officer always address the importance of tree pruning as pruning is an essential part of tree care.

The main purpose of tree pruning is to keep the tree healthy. It involves trimming of the diseased and dead branches which affect the tree health. Pruning of those disease branches is used to prevent the disease spreading to healthier branches resulting in tree less likely to survive. Moreover, tree pruning encourages and promotes new growth of branches and food production.

Apart from pruning to treat disease and other types of decay, we also pruning for safety reason. The overgrowth branches, dead and dying branches pose a potential hazard in residential property as well as public area. These branches fall easily during windy season and rainstorm weather which causes considerable risk to driveway, walkways and vehicle. Thus, tree pruning need to be conduct regularly to prevent safety hazard from branch fallen.

In addition, tree pruning helps to shape and maintain a stable tree structure. We can trim the tree to keep the overall decorative aesthetic. Through the pruning process, the tree will continue to grow strong, grow lusher and beautiful.

In BSG, we have WSQ certified tree pruner to prune and maintaining your tree properly. Get in touch with us for our Reliable Tree Solutions where we can create an eco-friendly environment that is liveable and safe!

i) Crown Reduction

Crown reduction is a standard procedure to reduce the height and spread of the crown of a tree by the removal of the ends of branches whilst to retain the natural shape of the tree species. Ideally the tree should be made about 15% to 20% reduction in size of canopy from a properly executed crown reduction.

Technique

  • We do tree crown reduction by reduce the canopy or crown size of the tree. It involves reducing the overall crown area from the tips of the branches of the tree and shorten the branches that extend surrounding tree. The longest portion of the branches will be cut back to an existing to reduce the weight of potentially dangerous limbs.

Root System

  • When the root system of a large maturing tree has substantial decay making it potentially hazardous, crown reduction is a preferred method to minimize the hazardous.

Balance a misshapen tree

  • This type of pruning does less damage to a tree especially storm damage because it balances the misshapen tree and reduce the weight of the tree. It is best done gradually over a period of years.

Crown Reduction good for:

  • Maintain the overgrown trees and the original shape of the tree
  • Prevent the tree obstructing and damaging property
  • Prevent the tree from interfering with overhead electrical wire and obstructing the building

iI) Crown Lifting

Crown Lifting is the technique of increasing the clear space below the foliage of a tree, when clearance is needed for pedestrian and vehicular access.

Technique

  • We do tree crown lifting to clear sight lines by removing the lower branches or the whole branches that may be causing an obstruction that extend below the desired clear heights.
Example: Trees that obstructing a footpath, highway or a building.

Reduce Weight of a Tree

  • Crown lifting is a way to reduce weight from a tree and allow light to pass through the tree. This can be of major benefit to the surrounding environment and create environmentally friendly.

Less Damage

  • This type of pruning does much less damage to a tree than reducing the canopy size. It is best done gradually over a period of years.

Crown Lifting good for:

  • Provide clearance under the tree
  • Make signs visible that were installed too far off the ground
  • Keep the lower branches away from traffic and buildings

III) Crown Thinning

We doing crown thinning by removed the portion of smaller or tertiary branches from throughout the crown to thin the density within the tree crown. The branches that rub or cross another should be removed systematically within 30% overall of the tree to avoid producing “lion’s tails”. Lion’s tails can result in sun scalding, epicormic sprouting and weak branch structure and breakage.

In the long run, crown thinning can create and maintain a stable tree structure which prevents safety hazard such as low-growing branches and growth forms subject to danger near pathway or road.

Crown Thinning good for:

  • Creating more natural light on your property or garden without altering the overall shape and size of the tree
  • Reduce wind resistance and minimize storm damage of an otherwise structurally sound tree
  • Reduce weight of the tree and balanced branch structure to encourage natural re-growth

IV) Crown Reshaping

Tree Crown Reshaping is a way to bring the tree to a desirable condition or shape. It is recommended as being a ‘once-only’ operation to make the tree safe.

Technique

  • We reshape the crown by cutting back to a side branch to maintain a flowing branch line.

v) Crown Cleaning

Crown cleaning is a way to remove the diseased, dying or dead wood from the canopy of the tree.

Technique

  • We do crown cleaning by remove the stumps of broken branches, climbing plants and unwanted epicormic shoots for safety reasons. It is far safer for the crown of the tree to only hold the live wood.

vI) Tree Pollarding

Pollarding is a tree maintenance technique that used to control the tree size. For example, pollarding results in a large and mature tree become small and its lifespan can be greatly increased. Pollarding involves the removal of all limbs back to the main trunk.

Technique

  • We do tree pollarding as it is a method of encouraging lateral branches by cutting off a tree stem or minor branches two or three metres above ground level. After the initial cutting, the tree is then allowed to regrow.

Tree pollarding good for:

  • Control the size of the tree due to restricted soil space or the tree having been planted too close to structures
  • Avoid dead wood from falling from the tree for safety reasons.
